Maestro visits the well respected tattooist Mr. Cartoon in Los Angeles and takes a ride in his ‘62 Chevy Impala. Cartoon briefly mentions a “Low-rider Time Machine” in the video, which sounds like the best idea in the world to me.

Paris Renfroe has created a line of miniature container pods called M112 PODS, based on the growing popularity of abandoned shipping containers being used as a resource in green housing and construction. He’s actually selling these: they range from $175-250 depends on the finish or color.

M112

Standard dimensions: 20” L x 8” W x 8 ½” H (available in 40” length for an additional $100.00)
Standard colors $175.00 each: Apple Green, Blue Sky, White, Orange, Grey
Special finishes $250.00 each: Natural Rust
Available in custom colors, interiors, and configurations. Slight variations may occur – each unit is hand constructed, finished, and signed by the artist.

More information on the M112 PODS here. More photos after the jump.

Sympathetic Resonance is an interactive musical instrument sculpture that utilizes the keys of a marimba (a mallet-percussion instrument of african origin) to create four and a half playable octaves. The sculpture consists of 56 “units,” each containing a different note, as well as a yarn-wound mallet affixed to a rotary solenoid which allows the note to be triggered by a touch-sensitive aluminum keyboard played by the viewer. The sculpture’s modular design allows it to completely change configuration from installation to installation. Each unit can be either mounted or placed on the floor or mounted to a wall, and can be connected to the keyboard with a wire of any length. More info here.
